New Delhi, March 15

In a major development that brings both clarity and a new set of questions for thousands of NRI students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially cancelled the Class 12 Board Exams across several Middle East countries.

Following a detailed review of the situation on the ground and feedback from local school authorities, the Board issued a circular today stating that all exams scheduled between March 16 and April 10, 2026, will no longer take place. This decision affects students in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations, confirmed that this cancellation also applies to the papers that were previously postponed earlier this month. While the move provides immediate relief to students and parents concerned about the feasibility of conducting exams in the affected regions, the focus now shifts to how results will be calculated.

The Board has noted that the specific criteria for declaring the final results for these Class 12 candidates will be shared separately in the coming days.

Copies of the notification have been dispatched to the Indian Ambassadors in all seven countries, as well as the Consul General in Dubai and the CBSE Regional Office, to ensure all schools and students are informed immediately.
