Ludhiana, March 5 : Under the ambitious Mission JEEVANI – “Care that Saves Two Lives,” the Ludhiana District Administration has taken a major leap in maternal healthcare. In a collaborative effort with Hero DMC Heart Institute and the Civil Surgeon Office, a specialized district-level training program was organized to enhance early screening of cardiac risks in pregnant women at the primary healthcare level.
Training 211 Frontline Health Warriors
The training, held at the DUMRA Auditorium, saw the participation of 211 Community Health Officers (CHOs) from across the district. The initiative was led by ACUT Ms. Pragati Verma, Civil Surgeon Dr. Ramandeep Kaur, DFPO Dr. Amanpreet, and Dr. Bishav Mohan.
An expert technical team from Bengaluru provided hands-on training on AyuSynk, India’s first AI-supported Digital Stethoscope developed by AyuDevices.
Focus on Early Cardiac Detection
The primary objective of Mission JEEVANI is to tackle undiagnosed cardiac conditions that often surface or worsen during pregnancy due to physiological changes like increased heart rate and blood volume.
“Strengthening screening at the frontline level is critical to preventing serious complications during pregnancy,” noted the medical experts during the session.
High-Tech Healthcare: How AyuSynk Works
The CHOs were trained on the clinical use of the AyuSynk Digital Stethoscope and the AyuShare mobile application. Key features of this technology include:
AI-Supported Detection: Automatic identification of heart and lung abnormalities.
Real-time Sharing: Instant sharing of heart sounds with remote specialists for immediate consultation.
Noise Reduction: Clearer auscultation data even in busy primary health centers.
Digital Records: Secure, patient-wise documentation for seamless referrals.
Strengthening Health & Wellness Centres
As part of the mission, these advanced digital devices have been distributed to Community Health Officers across Ludhiana. This move empowers frontline workers to identify high-risk pregnancies (HRP) early, ensuring no mother loses her life to preventable cardiac issues. Additionally, the staff received training on standardized digital BP monitoring to detect hypertension and pre-eclampsia.
This tech-driven initiative reflects the District Administration’s commitment to achieving zero preventable maternal deaths through capacity building and innovation.
